Plot: priests and healers, an island dotted with temples and the conflict between orders that are competing for supremacy of the Kingdom are the ingredients of this wonderful fantasy novel. The protagonist is a young healer who finds himself relegated to the hidden temple of Goddess forgotten. Neither he nor those who have decided for him that unusual punishment has no idea what power is hidden behind the name of Ethlinn, the goddess hidden. The story, which occur at a relentless pace of unexpected events and engaging, is both intense and deep.
My review: start saying that there is a question that naturally arises that permeates throughout the novel that is: "The gods really exist?"
This book was recommended to me by a friend and as sure as I am skeptical of people before libros tips are always open to new readings.
In this case the license has been assured that this book could be a good read. And I'm not joking at all. The same day I went to the library to get it, even ignoring the plot. And this thing has already happened to me, okay, but not twice two thousand.
This is a serious lack of me and my mother had a point in saying "Thank God you have not bought."
'I would say that after all these unnecessary whining we want a serious review on the book in question, because I've already at least one player who is waiting. ^ ^
The book itself is very interesting and you can not define "traditional fantasy" because the only thing that can have is the traditional magic, good and bad. Stop. The rest is a book where the action is limited or not as may be understood as a fantasy reader. If you think disembowelment every five pages, avoid this book because here the action, so if we want to call it, are the intrigues, betrayals, the tiles plans and sold it as a spider spins its web.
However ..
The story is well constructed, as are the characters who, thanks to the descriptions can create a world not just on paper but also in the mind of the reader is therefore complicit in almost all the plots that are woven into these 669 pages.
At times I found it a bit 'slow and boring, but no less enjoyable. It 's a thing to put in mind if you're used to the action of war and blood.
Another consideration is the book and I do not know whether to call a criticism itself: At the beginning of the characters and we, as would be natural to anyone, I thought those were just the characters. Instead for most of the book we find many more and at the end after 530 pages or so I started to have a complete picture on the big puzzle that I was reading slowly building.
It took me a bit 'to understand the twists and clever idiot I understand the connection between the characters just before this bond welding. I'm a genius, do not you think? XD
umh ... what else to say? It 's a very interesting book, sometimes we laugh, sometimes you are mad, every time there is despair, etc. ..
Sometimes I have found a little heavy, but I do not think it is an insurmountable problem. I can not even say "We needed a filing" because they are of the view that a filing would have ruined everything.
Summing up ... My vote is 3 and a half stars (out of five, I remember the time) and, well, 'I highly recommend it because even if it seems dull or boring, this tome does not disappoint, especially in the last 90 pages!
